Michinoku Memorial (Airinjuku)
- [ museum ]
A paradise for bikers by bikers.
"Michinoku Memorial" was built by volunteers by renovating barns of a closed down agricultural school in order to preserve and exhibit a variety of bikes. Exhibits include bikes, bike supplies and professional journals. Also there is a space for the bike race tournament held in late August every year called “Idemitsu Ihatove Trial”. It has one of Tohoku’s biggest stocks of bike related documents, making it an irresistible place for bikers. The group that was formed to operate this facility is call "Airinjuku". Maintained by Secretary General Mr. Hiroyuki Ofune and members around the country. With meetings and concerts taking place every year. It is open from April to October. It should be noted that an inquiry in advance should be made before visiting.
